Team members can choose an Avatar for themselves, creating a highly visual planning experience, and making it clear who is doing what, by when.
You can assign milestones to anyone on the team - simply click on the name by the milestone. The new owner takes full control and can add notes, update the status or change the date. No more emailing spreadsheets or chasing people by phone.
Team members can see their milestones at a glance in the dashboard or milestones view, and clicking an avatar highlights that person's milestones. Plans can be updated in seconds, and changes are available to the whole team in real-time, even if they are editing the plan simultaneously.
Did we mention how easy it is to update your plans? Click the title to edit, and the triangle to update the status of a milestone; Green, yellow, orange, red, you choose what they mean. Blue always means done, and the X deletes the milestone. Click and drag a milestone to bring its date forwards or slip it back.
If you have a large number of milestones, create seperate work streams to group them logically, for example by project area or objective. Clicking and dragging milestones up and down enables you to easily move them between workstreams.
The Personal and Professional Editions of Milestone Planner include a full history of changes to plans. We call it the activity stream - a microblog of all the updates, who made them, and the reason they gave.
The activity stream provides the essential context you need to make smart decisions. It makes it obvious which areas of the plan are active, and who is working on them.
Click on a milestone, work stream or avatar to drill down on that area. The activity stream is also available as an RSS feed, right to your desktop or mobile phone. Give it a go.
